We treasure our memories of Richard. It was a huge blessing to have known him and we are so thankful to God for the times we spent together.
Much love Steve and V xx

Whilst we didn't know Richard as well as many, his gentle, kind, gentlemanly manner always struck me. Our daughter, being very shy when younger, always felt particularly comfortable around him, and this says much about what was his warm, caring nature. She'd been nervous coming to one of Meri's birthday parties a few years ago (not really knowing Meri's other friends at the time) and Richard was the first one to kindly and gently greet her with a simple 'Hello', guiding her into the group of girls with empathetic awareness. She came home from Meri's party - which she really enjoyed! - and the perfectly-apprioriate, sensitive greeting Richard had given her was the first news she shared with me. From a sensitive, quiet young girl, this small kind act made a huge difference to her comfort and her experience. A small moment, from a true gentleman, that our daughter and we will always remember and be grateful for. We're sending all of our love to Diana, Xander, Meri and Richard's family. When I moved to Southampton for uni at 18, Richard was a huge part of the family I was so warmly welcomed into. His kind, gentle, thoughtful presence in this family has been, and will continue to be cherished by all the lives he touched. I am so grateful to have known him for the past five years, and he will be dearly missed by so many.
